TllR Proprietor of this establishment gives'
notice that lie is repairing and filling it up
at considerable expense, and in a superior style,
and will have it roa I)- for the reception of company
by the iWtli of May. It is situated on the great
Rastcrn and Western line of Stages, from Salisbury
via Lincointon to Ashville, &c ; (a stage
passing there every day in the week but one) ?
The country around is broken and proverbially j
healthy, and besides the mineral piopirties of the j
waters, lb-re are many inducements to turn the i
attention ??f invalids and others towards this place* {
Its proximity to the lower country?the cheapness
of living?the excellence of the neighboring sneie-'
ty?the abundance of game?the r.. h lb-M ait'a tied
to science?especially to Mineial<>^\ n<; UennyJ
are facts not to be overlooked by tho travelling
world. Rut it is in the. Mineral qualities of the
Springs that tho great attraction towards this spot
consists. The Proprietor has no exaggerated lists
of cures to present to the public, for ho has just

public, to present sucli jf he had tlie;n. But ho
jias the assurance of some of the most scientilic
Physicians and Chemists, to the rave and valuable j
properties of these Springs. In 1824, Professor
Olmsted (now of Vale College] made a strict an- j
alysis of this water, and pronounces its ISrcign j
ingredients to he
Sulphuretted Hydrogen,
Sulphate of Lime,
Sulphate of Magnesia,
Muriate of Lime.
For a more extended statement see his geological
Report ot North Carolina, authorized by net of
Assembly, pages 129-90. Space will not permit
us to add the very flattering remarks of this gentleman?but
any one at nil acquainted with the
subject cannot help perceiving the peculiar adapta-l
tion of these minerals, to the disorders that most
prevail in the South.
The Proprietor can only superadd his determination
to incet patronage, by an unflinching attention
to the wants, wishes and cmnfnr ; ol his visiters.
The Springs are now, and will be throughout
the year, open for the accommodation of travellers.

At length one day mv wife e.nne in wicli
