Tax Rebated.
All soldiers and sailors who were in
active service in the world war will

please take notice that under and by
' virtue of an act passed by the Eegis- j
lature of 1919^ approved the 11th, day;
of March 1919, are entitled to have
their poll and road tax refunded as
I per act which reads as follows:

A Joint Resolution.
SECTION 1. Ee it resolved by the
General Assembly of the State of
South Carolina That on and after the
approval of this act, the county Trcas
uror of each Countv of this State is
hereby authorized and empowered to
rebate the Poll Tax and Commutation
tax for the years 19IS and 1919 paid
or to be paid by each soldier or sailor
from such county, who was in active
service in the "World War. That alii
towns and Cities of South Carolina'
j
shall rebate the street tax until Jan-|
uary 19 20 of each soldier or sailor
who was bona fide in service during!
the World War.
SECTION i>. All Acts or parts of
Acts inconsistent herewith are here-i
by repealed.
SECTION 3. This Act to take effect
immediately upon its approval by!
the Governor.
APPROVED: 11th., day of March;
1919.
All who have paid such tax will i
please return their receipts to me not
later than June 15th 1919, so thatj
your poll and road tax can be refund
ed prior to my annual settlement.
