doubtless prove fatal.
The scene of the tragedy was!
near the south end of Gunters' mill?
pond dam at Swansea. Pinkney, it j
is understood saw Hampton and his |
(Pinkney's) wife riding about in a
buggy together; and he secured a'.
gun and lay in waiting for the twoj
to pass. Two shots were fired, the j.
man receiving the first charge. !
Deputy Sheriff W. M. Laird was
called and was soon upon the grounds {
The officer found Pinkney in the;
town of Swansea and placed him under
arrest, later bringing the accused;
to the county jail.
The inquest was conducted by,
Magistrate Martin on Sunday morn-!1
ing.

8125,000 Liberty Loan Bonds which
with the previous subscriptions make
the amount now held by the Bank
$200,000. The $125,000 is to be
divided among the Branches in proportion
to their deposits and of this
the town of Lexington will get $10,900
which will aid in raising her
quota.
