COACH LUNCH SERVICE

lunch service" has been inaugurated
on Southern Railway System trains
carrying dining cars for the benefit
of passengers who do not care for
a complete meal while on their jour,
ney. Dining cars have been provided
with basket trays and the waiters
pass through the coaches announcing
"sandwiches and coffee!" The
sandwiches are wrapped in sanitary

Death of R. W, D. Rowel!.

W. D. Rowell, county auidtor and
superintendent of Education, died
here today after a lingering illness.
Mr. Dowell was one of Bamberg's
most popular citizens and had held

leaves a widow, five sons and four
daughters. The funeral services will
be held tomorrow at 2:30 o'clock and

act as honorary pallbearers.

The court of general sessions opens
at Camden this morning with judge
George E. Prince presiding. Several
cases of widespread interest are on
the docket for trial including the
cases of two white women who are
under separate indictments for murder.

instrument. T. R. Broxton, an overseer
on the Goin plantation, will
be placed on trial for killing a negro
farm hand. Mrs. James {Parker and
her husband are in the county jail a
