HOGAN Miss Becky Craven, who is home from Winthrop College. r ock Hifl, for the holidays, will leave on Sunday for Orchard Park, N. Y., to spend a few days with Rev. and Mrs. James B. Mitchell. Rev. and Mrs. Ross Pickett attended a Christmas get-to gether at the home of the lat ter’s sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Shealy, on Kilbourne Road ni Columbia on Friday evening. LOSES BROTHER J. L. Delany was cailed to Boston, Mass., recently due to the death of his brother, George B. Delany. Capt. and Mrs. T. C. Mid dleton and children of Wash ington, D. C., are spending the holdiays with the latter’s par ents, Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Bo- die. Recent guests of Mrs. L. D. Edmonds were Mrs. B. H. Johnson of Aiken, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Martin and Rev. and Mrs. Clee BlackweH of Wa terloo. While here they visited Miss Buena Edmonds who is a patient at Bailey Memorial hospital. T-Sgt. Virlyn Davenport was sent to Vietnam in November, where he woud be assigned for a year or longer. He’s the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Daven port, Sr., who live on Reder Street. Mrs. Davenport and children, Carla, Julia Ann and Virgil, Jr., moved from their former station at Forbes AFB in Kansas tp Millstadt, HI. Her mother, Mrs. Clara Foster, is with her at the present. Mrs. Wayne Hill and children spent last week-end in Bam berg with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Warren and visit ed Mr. and Mrs. Hill in Den mark while there. Mr. and Mrs. J. Clifton Lol- lis attended a Christmas get- together on Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lollis in Princeton. Mr. and Mrs. James Ktrb- en of Joanna, Joined by Mrs. Bobby Kitchens of Clinton, were. Wednesday afternoon visi tors in Spartanburg. ATTEND PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thomp son attended Pilot Life Insur ance Co. Christmas party on Wednesday evening, Dc. 15, in Anderson. On Saturday evening, the Ep- worth Methodist Church Mid « mi) , its annual Christmas party in the educatonal building. It was under the direction of Mrs. Harmon Murrah, Jr. The young people sang carols, as part of th evening’s enter tainment. Also, the different Sunday school rooms present ed skits The large group enjoyed a covered dish supper, being furnished by the ladies. A highlight of the evening for the younger set was when they wece presented gifts from the tree. Pvt. E2 Vrgil M. Morgan is home for a 10-day leave from Fort Gordon, Ga., and will leave on the 2nd of January for Fort Dix, N. J. HOME FOR HOLIDAYS Cadet Pvts. Wilford Bragg. Bill Bishop and Bill Crawford, students at Georgia Military College, are home for the Christmas hoiidas. Jorga Simpson and Loretta Lindsay Joined their parents for the holidays. They are stu dents at Draughn’s Business College in Greenville. Home from Winthrop Col lege, Rock Hill, are Andi and .Betty Stroud, Ann Addison, Di- %ne Sexton and Elaine Boyce. Vicki Boyd and Clark Sur ratt are home from the Uni versity of South Carolina, Co lumbia. Home for the holidays are Marilyn Sease and Rhonda Ri- kard, students at Grady Me morial Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Ginger Byars and Tory Lewis, students at Newberry College, are enjoying the holi days at heme. Dishte Delany., student at Duke University, Durham, N. C., Is spending Hie Christ mas holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J, L. Delany. Other holiday guests are ttt. and Mrs. Stewart Booker of from college for the Christ mas holidays. She is a student at Carson-Newman. Allen Barron, student at the Unversity of Virginia, is home for the holidays. Zack Barron, who had visited three with him for a few days, returned with him. SAMPLE FELLOWSHIP ENTERTAINED On Sunday evening, following the services at the church, the Youth Fellowship was enteratin- ed with a Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Nathan Bra sil. Games were played to shit the occasion in the gaily deco rated room. Refreshments were served to the group by Mrs. Brasil and the co-hostess, Mrs. Ray Bragg. ATTEND FUNERAL Mr. and Mrs. John R. Sirmans and family were called to Lake land, Ga., recently due to the death of the former’s father, Curtis Sirmans. They remained for the week, returning on Sun day. Services Scheduled : At Episcopal Church The Christmas season will be observed In two special services at All Saints Episcopal Church, according to the priest-in charge, the Rev. James Rivers. On Christmas morning, a fes tival service of Holy Commun ion will be celebrated at 11:00 a. m. On January 9, the Feast of Lights, in observance of the Epiphany season, will take place at 5:30 p. m. at the r church. The public is invited to both services.
