Mrs. Tom Addison poured cof fee from tbs table overlaid with a linen cloth and adorned with gold h«»n<*ey ornaments and fig' urines. Carnations wars arranged in decoration for the living room. Wessinger Children Celebrate Birthdays Derek and Karen Wessinger, children of Dr. and Mrs. Carl Wessinger, celebrated their birth days with a party at their home on Thursday afternoon. Derek was five Tuesday, January S, aad Karen waa three on the 38th A few little neighborhood play mates were invited for games and refreshments of ice cream, cake and candles. Honoroing Mrs. Alida Ander son of Temple City, Calif., who is visiting here, Mrs. Robert W. Anderson and Mrs. Leonard uni son entertained a few friends for Canasta at the Wilson some on Thursday. A dessert course was served and two tables were in play dur ing the afternoon. Mrs. Hugh Simpson and Mrs. Hubert Pitts were winners of score prizes. Decorating the card rooms were pink and white holiday ar rangements. MRS. DURDEN Miss Theda Kay Sublet! and Dsssie B. Durden Married in Charleston Dec. 26 Miss Theda Subiett of this city and Dessie B. Durden of Co lumbia and Charleston, were married on December 28. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend W. McLeod Frampton of Orangeburg, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Frampton in Charleston at 5:30 in the afternoon. Poinsettias were used to decorate the candlelight ceremony. The bride, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Griffin Subiett of this city, attended Columbia College after graduation from Clinton High School. For the past year she has held an office po sition with Standard Plywoods, Inc. The groom is the.son of D. B. Durden, Sr., and .the late Mrs. Durden of Columbia. He is a graduate of Columbai High School and attended Presbyterian College. He holds a position with the Commercial Credit Corpora tion in Charleston and they are making their home on Sullivan’s Island. Mrs. Meyers is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Adair of Joanna, and Mr. Meyers is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David C. Meyers of Hinsdale, HI. He is di rector of technical services of the Joanna Cotton Mills Co. They have returned from a trip to New York and are residing on Ellis street. Mrs. Bowers Hostess To St. John's ULCW Members of the United Luth eran'Church Women of St. John’s Church met Monday evening at the home of Mrs. S. P. Bowers. Mrs. Bowers, vice-president, presided and opened the meeting with prayer. “Let All The Na tions Praise Thee” was the topic of the program led by Mrs. R. H. Brown. Taking part were Mrs. J. V. Stilwell, Mrs. L. P. Dailey and Mrs. F. M. Boland. The meeting cloaed with the mlspah benedic tion. A social hour and refresh ments were enojyed at the close of the evetmig. Both plan to continue their education, she at Clinton High School and he at Presbyterian College where he is a member of the Junior class and captain of the football team. Lee Chapter, United Daughters of the Confed eracy, will meet this evening (Thursday) at 7:30 with Mrs. John G. Pitts at her home on North Adair Street. Mrs. Nene D. Workman will conduct the program. KOHN Miss Shirtay Ann Dunaway, daughter of Mrs Edgar Francis Dunaway, and the lata Mr. Duna way of the Whitmire Road, and; George Allen Sanders, son of Mr. and Mrs. Noah J. Sanders of Pa- latka, Fla., were married on Thursday, December 29, at 3 o’clock at the home of the bride. Only relatives and close friends attended the ceremony. Rev. Milford J. Sanders, bro ther the groom, heard the nuptial vows. Mrs. Allen Young, cousin of the bride, furnished the wed ding music. Miss Betty Bowman of Greenville, roommate of the bride at Winthrop College, at tended her as maid of honor. The groom was attended by his neph ew, James J. Sanders, of this city as best man. The vows were spoken before an arch of green fern adorned on each side by greenery, bows of palm branches and candles. A mantel arrangement of white gladioli and chrysanthemums completed decorations for the ceremony room. Elsewhere thorughout the home the bridal green and white motif was used in appointments. Miss Bowman wore a brown wool dress with skin shoes, white hat and gloves. Her flowers were white carnations. The bride was dressed in a beige wool suit trimmed with a mink collar. She wore brown suede accessories and her bou quet was white carnations can tered with heart-shaped clusters of pearls. Mrs. Glenn Brock Reaves of Stillwater, Oklahoma, presided over the punch bowl, and Miss '- Mary Cunningham of this city and Furman University, served cake. The bride is a graduate of Clinton High School and is a sen ior at Winthrop College where she will receive her BS degree in education in June. The groom is a graduate of Pa- latka High School and has com pleted three years of active duty in the army. He is a junior at the University of Florida, Gaines ville, and is a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho social frater nity. ANNOUNCE ADOPTION The Rev. and Mrs. Clyde L Ireland, of Columbia, announce the adoption of a son, Stephen Lambert, age four months. Mr. Ireland was Priest-in-charge of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Clinton, 1954-1957. Mrs. Ireland is the former Betty Jean Cren shaw of Laurens County. Episcopal Women Hear Plans For Preaching Misson Monday afternoon for the Janu ary meeting of the Women of All Saints Episcopal Church, Mrs. James Macdonald gave an infor mative talk on Bible study in small groups. Mrs. R. M. Tur ner, president, presided, and Mrs. James Leighton conducted the devotional. Appointed to attend the Dio cesan convention at Grace Church in Anderson on January 17 were: Mrs. J. B.
