Mrs. Swannie Wicker, Mrs. Belle Tew, and Mrs. Clarence Fulmer, of Newberry, visited Mr. and Mrs. M. O. Tew in Fayetteville, N. C., over the hol idays. S-Sgt. Virlyn Davenport has returned home for an extended leave and visit with his family following 15 months service in Goose Bay, Labrador. Mrs. H. B. Boggs, Mr. and Mrs C. L. Wehunt were over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Lathrop in Aiken during the holidyas. Gray Stroud, of Columbia, spent the Christmas holidays with Mrs. Stroud and children. Mr and Mrs. H. B. Swygert, of Greenville, was a recent guest of Mr and Mrs. P. F. Swygert. Mr. and Mrs. Millard Murphy visited Misses Annie and Kitty Putman in Laurens on Tuesday. Mrs. Laura Burton spent sev eral days last week with her daughter, Mrs. Clyde Powell and Mr. Powell in Columbia. Mr and Mrs. Perry Lee Swy gert and sons, Terry and Donald, were recent supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Wood in New berry. Mr and Mrs. Millard Murphy, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Murphy and small daughter, Lynn, Mrs. Edna Ballard and daughter, Libby, visited Fred Putman on Sunday at the hospital in New berry. Mrs. L. B. Thompson, Mr. and Mrs. Seymore Strange and fam ily, of Spartanburg, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Thompson and fam ily, of Seneca, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Mrs. Bessie Gibson, of Saluda, sister of Mrs. Morse, is visiting her for a few weeks. Boyce Bowen left on Sunday to return to Chicago, 111., following a 10-day stay here with Mrs. Bowen and family. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Jacks were Monday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. McCary in Greenwood and Wednesday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Jim mie Jacks near Mountville. Mr. and Mrs. Algie Abrams and children, Adpie and Martha Ellen, spent Christmas Day with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Graham in Walhalla. Little Martha Ellen spent sever al days last week in Greenville with Debbie Quinn. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Roy Quinn accom panied her home and spent the day. Miss Patricia Carter, of St. Marys Academy in Aiken, spent the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. J. Carter. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pitts, of Charlotte, N. C., spent the New Year holidays with their par ents, Mr. and Mr.*. Cecil O’Dell, Mr and Mrs. C. D. Pitts in Clin- 'ton. Mrs. Brice Little, of Charlotte, Mr. and Mrs. C-scil O’Dell,- Sue and Jeff were Wednesday din ner guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Jones in Anderson. Mrs. Sallie Crocker, of Whit mire, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. John Gaskin and Mr. Gas kin. Mrs. Ruth Smith, of Charles ton, spent the week-end with her sister. Miss Kitty Mae Moseley. On Sunday they visited their brother, A. M. Moseley and Mrs. Mosely in Greenville. Pvt. John McCooley and R. C. and Bobbie Ruff left on Monday to return to Fort Bliss, Texas, following a visit here with their families over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Franks and children, of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Willingham and children, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Franks spent Christmas Day with Mr. and Mrs. Claude Franks.
