Deputy Jones quoted Boyette as
saying first he had been to Clin
ton the morning of the fire to
obtain dog food, His wife “was
raising so much sand that morn
ing." the deputy quoted Boyette,
that the husband had retreated
to tlje woods. He denied knowing
the house was afire.
Later, the sheriff testified, Boy
ette told him that on the morning
and went to the woods in his car
and slept until about 2:00 p. m.
