Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Tramrtiell and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Paul Glenn in Greenville Saturday. Miss Ruth Trammell is spending a few days in Greenville with *Miss Glenda Seay. ♦ Watch Service Tonight There will be a watch night ser vice New Year’s eve, Thursday at the Lydia Pcntecotal Holiness church beginning at 7:00 p. m. until after midnight with several visit ing speakers for the service. Ev- i eryone is invited by the pastor, Pre«byteria«i Women To Meet The Women of the Church of the Lydia Presbyterian church will meet Wednesday, Dec. 6, with Mrs. Allen Inglett, 169 Cypress street at 7:30 p. m. All women of the church are invited. Lydia Baptist Church News The opening exercises for the new educational building were held Sunday beginning with Sunday school at 9:45 A special service was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 with ^tev. B. L. Wood, Rev. J. H. Walker and Rev. R. D. Gregg, for mer pastors, taking part on the pro gram. Each of the former pators spoke briefly about the work during the time they served the church, and expressing their joy at the prog ress being made now. Following the service J. B. Aber crombie, who is entering the min istry, was licensed to the gospel ministry. I$ev. Stanley Hardee, Jr., present pastor, gave a brief talk and presented him the license. At the close of the service the member and friends viewed the) new building. W. M. S. General Meeting The Woman’? Missionary Society of Lydia Baptist church will have its general meeting tonight at 7:30 o’clock at the church. All women j of the church are urged to be pres ent. at the church at 7:30 p. m. This is the social meeting for the month. All members and other men of the church are asked to be present for this meeting by the pastor. Rev Hardee. G. A.'s Tuesday The Junior G. A.’s of the Baptist church will meet Tuesday after noon at 5:00 p m., at the ehurcfc Mrs. Trammell and Mrs. Burdette invite all the girls to be present. Brotherhood Friday The Brotherhood of Lydia Bap tist church will meet Friday night Revicval Service The Lydia Church of God Tab ernacle will begin revival services Sunday, January 3. Rev. Ben T. Sprouse, Sr., will be the guest speaker. Rev. R. L. Powers, pas- (contirtued on page 4) Ground-breaking ceremonies for the new Lydia Methodist church in that community were recently held and work begun at a cost of $28,000. Case Lumber company of Fountain Inn, is doing the construction. The lot valued at $1,500, was donated to the church by Lydia Cotton Mills. Shown above in the picture, left to right, are: Rev. E. K.
