Copeland has returned from Atlanta where she attended the National Education association con vention. Dr. and Mrs. M. G. Woodworth, Mrs. D. J. Woods, Misses Catharine and Rosalie Jones spent Fridhy in Green ville. Rev. Lewis Lancaster filled the pul pit of Zion church in Lowryvillo on I last Sunday. Dr. F. D. Jones, who is a member of the summer school faculty of the University of South Carolina, spent the past week-end at home with his family. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Jacobs and sons spent the Fourth in Spartan burg with relatives. Miss Florence Nichols of Due West was the guest this week-end of Mrs. W, G. Neville. Miss Nichols was for merly a missionary to China where she expects to return next year. Miss Fannie Hatton spent Friday in Laurens with Mrs. EJbb Copeland. Mrs. J. B. Townsend, Jr., left Tues day for Anderson where she will visit relatives during the month of July. Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Jacobs have re turned from a visit to Atlanta. Miss Rowena Jones spent the past week-end with her parents. She left Monday for Columbus, Ga., where she will spend the remainder of the sum mer with relatives. Alexander Martin and Miss Mary Martin of Columbia, and Mrs. Miles Martin of Halifax, Va., were week-end guests of Prof, and Mrs. A. V. Martin. Walker Bailey spent the week-end with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. T. L. W. Bailey. He and Miss Agatha Bai ley left Sunday for Florence. Mrs. T. C. Johnson and son, Billy, have returned from a visit to relatives in Newberry. Mrs. Eugene Timmerman and little son, are visiting Mrs. Timmerman’s parents. Dr. and Mrs. E. Mood Smith. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Blakely and son, of Williamston, spent Sunday with Mr, and Mrs. John T. Blakely. Mr. and Mrs. Wallie Glenn of Bjalti- more, were guests last week of their aunt, Mrs. Estelle Abrams. Mrs. W. W. Lewis and children of Whitmire, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Hatton. Miss Virginia Neville left Monday for Elberton, Ga. Thad Johnson, Jr., James Hitt, and is now overseer of carding at the Da- cotah Mills at Lexington. Prof, and Mrs. A. V. Martin, Caro line and Taylor Martin visited rela tives in Columbia on Tuesday. Mrs. Jack Scruggs and children of Fountain Inn, spent the past week end here as the guests of Mrs. M. J. Furqueron. * Mr. and Mi's. J. W. Shealy and fam ily spent the Fourth in Leesville. Mrs. Charles C. Giles and children are leaving Monday for a visit to Tampa and St. Petersburg, Fla. J. B.
