Visiting Kiwanians Always Welcome Kiwanis had another good meeting Thursday night and The Korner ex tends congratulations. The attendance was fine, the chicken dinner par-ex cellent, and the address of the even ing a dandy. The attendance prize was drawn by Dicky Heustess with the admonition that it go to his wife. The club had as its guest, B. W. Wade, of the local Rotary club. The attorney made a rattling good talk on “Law,” what it is, what it ain’t, and he was heard with keen interest. His talk was declared one of the best the club has heard in a long time and he was given a cordial welcome to “come again.” At next week’s meeting Billy Hoy will speak to the boys on Biology or Bug-ology as he chooses. Billy is soon to leave the city for Columbia, where he will become a member of the Uni versity faculty. He is loved by all the members and The Korner hates to see him go. All out to hear Billy at next week’s meeting. The club’s A. R. P. preacher, Bynum Betts, is getting all primed for the -ainji^al Interational convention of all In^clubs in the United States and bers of the state council. State Councilor Holsonback says he is expecting a big year in the Junior Order, and feels certain that the or- fifanization will accomplish much good. The coming of the national conven tion of the order, which will be held at Charleston this month, has created much interest among the members in South Carolina, says Mr. Holsonback. The parson goes as the club’s of ficial representative and the boys back home will be a-hoping that he doesn’t get lost. One of the features planned for the convention is All-Kiwanis night, which is to be observed on the evening of June 24. All clubs of Kiwanis Inter national will be asked to observe the same program that will be carried out at Milwaukee. This program fol lows: 1. Moment of silent fellowship. 2. “America” (first stanza) and “God Save the King.” 3. Message from'International Pres- idnet O. Sam Cummings. 4. Fellowship song — ‘^Onward in Kiwanis.” The purpose of the synchronized program is to enable Kiwanians all over the United States and Canada to concentrate upon the purpose and ideals of the organization. Copies of President Cumming’s message will be mailed to secretaries of all clubs and read at their meet ings.
