A summer, scheme, for the guest
room ? Something cool, dainty and not
extravagrant ? Then choose simple
draperies and spreads, making color
and' pattern do the work of costly
fabrics and accessories.
It is not necessary to have both
over and under curtains in summer.
Sheer ruffled tie-backs of tinted voile,
organdie or tarlatan let im every stray
breeae and are very decorative.
A wall background of interesting
design will give all the pattern need
ed. Charming new wall papers are
•available in modem effects that blend
ftjually well with antique or modem
fmmishings. See that both paper and
curtains are in harmony with the rug,
and paint woodwork to blend with the
wall. For sensible summer spreads,
u^ sunfast mercerized broadcloth,

harmonizing with the general scheme.
These few rules will give you a fresh
and charming guest room at a very

“WE BUILD’’
Edited by Publicity Committee of
Clinton Kiwanis Club.
Visiting Kiwanians Always Welcome
Kiwanis had another good meeting
Thursday night and The Korner ex
tends congratulations. The attendance
was fine, the chicken dinner par-ex
cellent, and the address of the even
ing a dandy. The attendance prize
was drawn by Dicky Heustess with
the admonition that it go to his wife.
The club had as its guest, B. W.
Wade, of the local Rotary club. The
attorney made a rattling good talk on
“Law,” what it is, what it ain’t, and
he was heard with keen interest. His
talk was declared one of the best the
club has heard in a long time and he
was given a cordial welcome to “come
again.”
At next week’s meeting Billy Hoy
will speak to the boys on Biology or
Bug-ology as he chooses. Billy is soon
to leave the city for Columbia, where
he will become a member of the Uni
versity faculty. He is loved by all the
members and The Korner hates to
see him go. All out to hear Billy at
next week’s meeting.
The club’s A. R. P. preacher, Bynum
Betts, is getting all primed for the
-ainji^al Interational convention of all
In^clubs in the United States and

are those who have been named on

national will be asked to observe the
same program that will be carried
out at Milwaukee. This program fol

2. “America” (first stanza) and
“God Save the King.”
3. Message from'International Pres-

The purpose of the synchronized
program is to enable Kiwanians all
over the United States and Canada to
concentrate upon the purpose and
ideals of the organization.
Copies of President Cumming’s
message will be mailed to secretaries
of all clubs and read at their meet
ings.
Arrangements for observing All-
Kiwanis night will be completed by
President Billy Copeland and our club
will enter into the observance as
planned by International.

Farmers trusted to luck, while Bill Boll Weevil “sawed wood.”
Will this be the sad story that you will carry to your banker this fall?
It was all too common a story last fall.
Would you sit still in your house and let a thief haul your bales of
cotton from your yard ? •
Why show more consideration to Mr. B. (Theif) Weevil.
DON’T WAIT UNTIL YOUR CROP IS LOST
Get ready now and start your fighting while you have a good chance
to win. If you were going out to get a thief stealing your cotton, wouldn’t
you want the best gun and ammunition available, or. would you buy the
oldest and cheapest you could buy?
Youi; life and that of your family is at stake. The best ammunition is
