Wa^now know that the boll weevn'wnr iTivade—South Carolina, for he’s here. And it now behooves the people of tms state to diversify their farming so as to raise everything that the fanner will need for food for himself and family and for live stock on his farm. Whal lit tle cotton he grows will be his own and he will be able then to name his own price." “I have been farming 39 years and I have never bought a horse and 1 don’t use mules. I bought a Ally colt for $30 before I was married and I have raised every horse that f have used on my farm ever since. There is no good in a mule when he lies down and dies, but a mare will leave the farm well stocked when she goes and will have done as much word as the mules. • ..j> • * r. . How would you like to have a fine memorial erected in our Capital for this worthy cause without Clinton, our town, not your town, not having contributed its full share, probably Laurens who is determined that the County raise her full quota, paying our share. I don’t believe there is a citizen in Clinton that desires any such thing but 1 tell you right now we are dangerously near this calamity unless you rally and rally right now to this cause and give lilterally or just what you know is your share. This can easily l>e figured up as Hunter and ‘Jack’s Township Quota has been set at $2,300. The condition of cotton in South Carolina on October 25, according to report of Bureau of Crop Estimates Issued through its South Carolina Field Agent, was 60 per cent of nor mal as compared with 61 per cent on September 26th. The October condi tion report has not been interpreted In terfns of bales. However, the re port of Field Agent, B. B. Hare, of September 26, indicated a total pro duction In the state of 1,127,000 bales, tha final out-turn, as hs stated at ths time, would be greater or less accord- lag to -whether weather conditions thereafter should be better or worse. The Razor. A young fellow wrote to a"firm ’to the south of Ireland which was sell ing razors at five shillings each. This ’is the style of hia letter: , “Please send one of your razors, for which I inclose P. O. for. five shill ings. • “P. For tire making is chiefly a mat ter of standards and policies—cost plus care. Any maker can build a good tire if he cares t6 pay per fection's price. AH men know Brunswick stand ards, for Brunswick products have been famous for 74 years. To ascertain what each maker offers one must analyze and test some 200 tires—as our laboratories have done. Formulas, fabrics and standards yary vastly in cost. Reinforce ments, plies and thickness are a matter of expense. And these vari ations affect endurance. It rests with the maker how far he wishes to go—how much he can afford to give. For there are no secrets nor pat ents to hold one back. Then it is a matter of combining the best features and building ac cording to the highest standards. Once you try a Brunswick you will understand how we have built model tires, regardless of factory expense. Yet Brunswick Types cost you the same as other like-type tires. Our saving is on selling cost, through our nation-wide organization. We realize that you expect more from Brunswicks, and we assure you that you get it. ONE Bruns wick will tell you the story. And then you’ll want ALL Brunswicks. No other tire, you’ll agree, gives so much for your money. THE BRUNSWICK-BALKE-COLLENDER CO.
