MUST LOOK AFTER
h r our ows interests,
says borah.
JgV- - -xi . '
Washington. Dec. 1.?In. a long
^ statement made in Washington yesterday,
Senator Borah of Idho deplored
the fact that our authorities have
been so tremendously occup.ied with
foreign affairs that they have not had
the time to attend to affairs of the
most pressing importance at home.
Senator Borah said in part:
"it is lime to look after the interests
and welfare of our own people. ;
We have been deluged with propaganda
fo,* months as to pur duty to <
other peoples. It is now time to give
\ ... the American people consideration.
They have been wholly neglected thus
far ever since the war began. Our
. industrial and economic conditions :
have therefore reached a point where j
they demand our first consideration.
It Is becoming a little bit nauseating :
to be told, of our continued obligation
to other people, with never a word
f6r the interests of our own people?
aome of whom are very sorely in need
of attention.'

These tablets are intended especially
for indigestion and constipation.
They tone up the stomach and enable
it to perform its functions naturally.
They act gently on the liver and bowels,
thereby restoring the stomach and
bowels to a healthy condition. When
you feel dull, stupid and constipated
give them a trial. You are certain to
be pleased with their effect.

"PUSSYFOOT" JOHNSON ,
LOSES HIS EYE.
London, Deo. 1.?The injured right j
eye of William E. "(Pussyfoot")
Johnson, the American prohibition I
worker and organizer, was removed in
j London recently. .The physician in
J atendar.ce explained in a bulletin is
sued after the operation that removal
of the eye was necessary to save the
left eye and also that the pain could
not have been relieved otherwise.
Mr. Johnson's eye was injured on
Nov. 12, at London when he was
dragged from a platform by students,
while he was making a prohibition
speech, and paraded through various j
streets.
