?The college correspondent of The

P. T). Folder, Jr., vice president, and
T. H. Hodges, secretary and treas

to the roll. After the business meet1

Hugo Sims was toastmaster. William
H. Smith responded to a toast given
by A. W. Avers. Welcome addresses

Much interest is shown in the pre<

the Preston, Carlisle and Calhoun

the final debate. The four selected
were C. 1?. Haynes, R. T. Wilson,
and H. R. Sims, from Preston Soeie*

Would Be Rid of Undesirables.
Ambassadors from a besieged town
were treating with Alexander the
Great on the terms of surrender. Al
exander ordered that Acuphis, the eld
est of the ambassadors, should be the
governor of the town, and that he
should send immediately as hostages
100 of the best citizens. Acuphis
then smilingly observed: "Sire. I
could govern better If thou wouldst
permit me to send thee 100 of the
worst citizens Instead of 100 of thai
best."
