The recorder's court proceedings
as reported in the Monroe
Journal last week offered inter
esung reading tor those who do j
not favor recorder's court.
Twenty-five cases are reported
and the total punishment handed
out to the 25 offenders was
4 1-2 months on the gang and
. $13 in fines together with the
costs in each case, all nf this
falling on 4 of those arraigned,
and the other 21 going free after
paying the COSTS. It ran something
like this: "John Jones, violating

}. M. Sullivan. Pastor.
y' Wetwefre glad to have an op^
portunlly to be with Bro, Purvis'
people at Providence Saturday
and Sunday. Good con u re- ,
gation at both these services. (
It will never cease to seem '
strange to us thot so innnv that I
are grown up? now were just I
little folks when we were pastor |
over there. It is enough to make ,
us fear that we are getting old
whether we feel so or not. . 1
Again it was our good fortune
to be with the Pageland folks in
the Sunday school as well as the
preaching hour. We are very
much pleased with the idea of
using curtains tc. cut the church
building into class rooms. It
would not cost very much to do
this as cloth could be bought for
12 or 15 cents a yard that would
serve this purpose.
In the evening services it was
the intention of the B. Y. P. U.
to elect' officers but owing to
lnrk of time the matter was cost
poned. We hope no one will
refuse to serve as an officer if
elected in our next meeting.
There is not a greater work for
us than helping the young of
our church to become efficient
in the Lord's work. We were
mighty glad to have I>ro. McGraw,
M. E. pastor, vith us in
these services. We hope every I
one who attends our services |
will feel perfectly free and easy j
and at home in our Father's
I louse.
Surprises will happen. Ask I
the Pageland Mercantile and I
Pageland Drug Go. about it they |
will verify this statement.

seem to think the preacher
needs any of his salary until the

is not that way. Also Bro. v
Carnes has been, we believe, the
first each year before this to paw.
