(service bejond their districts) nre all persons
between the ages of sixteen and seventeen j'enrs. sind
all persons between sevontcon and fifth years of age
who are exempt from Confederate service, but who aro
not exempt by the laws of tins statu from State service,
which Includes, amongst other classes, all "bonded
agriculturists who have been exempted by Confederate
authority as owners and managers of their own
plantations "

nr. Paragraph III. of General Orders No. 1-1, current
scries from this Office, is hereby reiterated, to wit: ,
That "persons who are liable to servico in said companies,
and who have failed to report their names,

be arrested, carried-into camp and tried by Courts Martial,
in pursuance ol Act of the General Asscmbfy."
IV. All such persons as are included in the proceeding
paragraph df these Orders will fortliwith report for
duty at Hamburg, S 0., without any summons or notice
from the commanding officers, or they will bo arrested.
V. In the following Regiments no-returns of organized
companies have been made to this office, and the
persons in said Regiments tf ho arc liable to service beyond
the limits of their Districts will forthwith report
for duty at Hamburg, S. 0., to be assigned to other
companies on pain of being arrested ami sent forward
to wit:

account of the irregularity nnd uncertainty of transportation

Italuigh and combined theso two sterl'ng Literary Journals.
The "Mercury" is therefore merged into the
"Southern Field and Fireside," and wiH ho so publish- 1
ed until the slate of the country will justify a divergenieiit,
when both papers will bo resumed and continued ^
as heretofore. Subscribers to both journals will receive
the paper to the full time of subscription without delay f
or interrupt ion ' .
