In order to aid tax-payers in preparing their returns, the following schedule and classification of taxable ar licies is published: CLASS I?All Property Engaged in AgncaHwji. Tiie kinds of property which shall be considered asemployed in agriculture are: All lands actually cultivated or connected with of contributing to such'cultivation, such as wood or pasture lands; all slaves, little, big, old and young, above twelve years of age, as are properly known and designated as pluitation or farm negroes, as contradistinguished from' mechanics Orhouse servants or others not connected with a farm or plantation ; all horses, mules and oxen used as work animals on a farm or plantation, as contra-distiuguished from family horses or horses of pleasure, aud from horses, mules or stock cattle upon such estate but not actually used in tilling the soil; all ploughs, carts, wagons and implements A" husbandry generally , used and necessary to tlm proper cultivation of the crops. - - CI*AS3 II?All Properly oj every kir.a, laai, rernnmlaud Mixed, not employed in Agriculture. Gold and silver ware and plate! jewela, jewelry and watches; gold and silver coin, gold dust, gold or silver bullion -f value of moneys held abroad, bills of excliange on foreign countries, promissory notes, rights, crodits and securities, including Confederate bonds; all solvent credits, bank bills and all other paper issued as currency?except non-interest bearing Confederate Treasury noses?ana not empioyea in a registered business. v 1 On all profits made by buying and selling articles? purchased since the 1st January, 186S?between the 17th February and 1st July, 1864, a tax of 30 per cent. There is also a tax of 1 per cent, on all property due and payable in 1864, under the Act to raise money to increase the pay of soldiers. V. It is made the duly of all the militia officers of the Stute to report to the proper officer for eqrollpent thc> names of persous who are liable to enrollment J under these orders. VI. Persons enrolled under General Orders Nos. 10 and 11, under Special Orders No. 12 and nuder these orders, will be allowed to volunteer in companies of mounted inlantry; but they will", nevertheless, be enrolled as required by said - orders, and held , liable to service as infantry until tlioir companies have been accepted atthis office-as mounted infantry.
