THE GLOBE,
THE OFFICIAL PAPER OF CONGRESS.
IPUBLISH now mv annual Prospectus of THE
DAILY GLOBE, und the CONGRESSIONAL
t a LOBE, to remain subscribers, and inform those
who may desire to subscribe, that Congress will
meet on the first Monday of next December, when
1 shall resume publishing the above-named papers.
They have been published so long, that most pub?
lic men know their character, and therefore 1 deem
it needless to give a minute account of the .:ind
of Matter they will contain.
THE DAILY GLOBE will contain a report of the
Debates ia both branches of Congress as taken
down by reporters, cquenl, at least to any corps of
short hand-writers in this, or in any other country.
A majority of them will each, be able to report.
verbatim, ten thousand words an hour, while the av?
erage number of words spoken by fluent speakers
rarely exceeds seven thousand five hundred words
an hour. When the debates of a day do not make
more than forty-five columns, they will appear in
The Daily Globe of the next morning, which will
contain, also, the news of the day, together with
such editorial articles ns may be suggested by pass?
ing events.
THE CONGRESSIONAL GLOBE AND APPEN?
DIX will contain a report of all the Debates in Con?
gress, revised by the speakers, the Messages of the
- Presidint of ihc United Slates, the Ai n nil Reports
of the Heads of the Executive Departments, the
Laws passed during the sessions, and copious in?
dexes to all. They will be printed on a double
roynl sheet, in book form, royal quarto size, each
number containing sixteen pages. The whole will
make, it is believe 1. at least 2,1100 pages. This is
acknowledged to be the cheapest work ever sohl in
airy country, whether a reprint or printed from
manuscript copy, taking fur data the average num?
ber of words it contains.
The coming session will, without doubt, be an
unusually interesting one, because the debates will,
in a great measure, be upon the policy of the Pres?
ident elect, and The Globe will be, as it has been
for many years past, the only source from which
lull debates of Congress enn be obtained.
THE CONGRESSIONAL GLOBE AND APPEN?
DIX pass free through the mails of the United
States, as will be seen by reading tlie following
Joint Resolution passed by Congress theCth of Au?
gust, 1852:
Joint Resolution providing for the distribution of the
Lairs of Congress and the Debates thereon.
With n view to the cheap circulation of the laws

lie it Resolved by the Senate and House of
Representatives of the United Stales of America
in Congress Assembled, That from nnd after the
present session of Congress, THE CONGRES?
SIONAL GLOBE AND APPENDIX, which con?
tain the lnws nnd the debates thereon, shall
pass free through the mails so long as the
eame shall be published by order of Congress:
Provided, That nothing herein shall be construed to
authorize the circulation of the DAILY GLOBE

PARMENTER & C.?JIP2ELI'S
SEWING MACHINES.
(BOOTH'S PATENT.)
THE subscribers call the attention of the public
to the above Sewing Machines. These machines
are reliable, simple, cheap and durable, and well
adapted to sewing different kinds of cloth?from
the finest fabric to the coarsest plantation goods.
It is wonderful the amount of labor they save.
Ladies who have tried them, arc completely fasci
uated with the rapidity and ncatiiess Kith which
their work is done. These Machines, not? offered
to the public of Anderson and Bickens Districts
by the undersigned, through their regular agent,
Mr. John Hammond, arc thought to be superior to
anything of the kind yet offered in this market?
when you take into account the price, the simplicity
of their machinery, and the ease of learning to
sew on them. The learning to sew is often diffi*
cult, but on these machines it is thought to be less
so than on any machine the subscribers have seen.
Price of Machine, $00,00; Hemmer, $.5.00,
The .Machine may be taken either with or without
the Hemmer, as the purchaser may desire.
For further particulars apply to the subscribers,
