Specimens of this marl or deposit were taken

phate,ofdime, and a mining and manufacturing
company was at once organized, all the stock

We announced ,tho other day the arrival
from Mexico of Mr. Roosl, the introducer into
American cultivation of the ramie, tho now
textile plant, which being, perennial, growing
from the' rdots from year to year, producing,
after boing well rooted, from two to four-crops, |
' of 150 pounds of clear fibre per season, and
this boing vastly finer and stronger than cot
ton or linen, sells at 60 to 65 cents per pound
in spocic, and having none of tho vissitudes of j
cotton, promises to bocomo a chief, crop in our
eultivation.

and good root cuttings, which arc for Sale, as is

of].ono dollar each for a small quantity. .It is
easily and rapidly propagated/ ' One man. in
Mississippi, multiplied in cloven small root
