Fowles Dead. J. Newton Fowles, well known lumber dealer, farmer and Confederate Fi veteran, died Monday morning at his TJ j residence in Columbia, at the age of 72 years. Mr. Fowles was well known C< to onr people, he having resided in the M Black creek seotion, of this county, at al "" what is now Azariah Taylor's mill, af from there he conducted a lumber and turpentine business on an extensive el scale.
