Heavy Rain in Hartsville. i
Hartsville, May 26.--Hartsville :
experienced a delude this evening. 1
For two hours the drains were in- i
adequate and bridges were wash- 1
cd away and stores flooded. The
streets were impassable and in r't
places were four 1 i
water, parties swimming across I;
them. The damage to crops <
must have >::i c > ui le.* ible. <
These rains are unprecedented.

Darlington County Visited by ,
Deluge.
4
Darlington, May 28.?The
heavy rains have caused most of 1
the mill dams and bridges through- I
out this county to be washed i
away, which has considerably in- 1
terfercd with travel on the var- :
ions public roads leading to town. 1
Several of the bridges over black i
creek are gone. s
It is impossible to exactly cs- j
timate the amount of damage j
done but it is into the thousands. 1
The crops are badly injured and ]
the farmers are very despondent j
over the present outlook. 1
