A FINE PARTY.
Goode Thomson is celebrating his
third birthday this afternoon and is
inviting in thirty-five of his little

The feature of the party is a Chirstmas
tree and a genuine Santa Claus (
to hand the little folks the presents.
Big red Christmas balls were given
the children as souvenirs. Jello,
whipped cream and cake finished up
a perfect afternoon for Goode and
his friends.
A HAPPY MARRIAGE
Miss Pearl Hagen and Mr. Reid
Ashley were happily married Tues-!
day aftrnoon at 3:30 o'clock at the
Methodist parsonage. The bride
wore a pretty iblue dress and was
attended by her three sisters, Mi?- ,
es Annie Lee, Daisy and Neva
Hagen and her brother, Mr. Harper
Hagen. After the ceremony the
young couple left for their home in
the Level Land section, where Mr.
Ashley is a prosperous farmer.
Mr. and Mrs. Ashley are well
known to the people of Abbeville
and they have many friends who

The Junior B. Y. P. U. of the
Baptist church have a social meeting
at the church once a month and
Tuesday night about thirty yonng
people were present and had a fine
time for an hour or two. Games
were played and refreshments of
chocolate and crackers were enjoyed.
Mr. Gowan had the young peo-.,
pie in charge and he made the
evening pleasant for them.

Miss Eva May Scott, of Columbia,
and Mr. William McKissick, of Newberry
were marrid Saturday afternoon
at 6 o'clock at the Methodist
parsonage in Columbia, Rev. Mark
L. Carlisle, officiating. The bride
wore a blue suit, a silver gray blouse,
black velvet hat and carried brides
roses. She is the daughter of Mr.
