I have just completed some improvements in foiling, cleaning, and in several respects liavo made changes in iny burrs, favorable to good grinding. Also, I have completed a new Corn Mill, and am now prepared to clean and trrittil "urn ??? I." * " "" B... wii iiiv uvsi my ie. i lie result ??t iliese improvements lias fully met my hopeful expectations, aud I am warranted in staling to the publ.c, thai 1 am able to tuake the linest of Flour, a good turnout, aud the best ol Meal, with dispatch. I invite a trial that you may judge for yourselves. In consequence of pecuniary considerations, and the war with all of its attending evils, I have uot been able tint 1 the present to do good work, which 1 hope will be accepted as an ap ogy lot- thi - delay in the past. 1 feel - tUcred Mi it uty former energies itt mechanics, tttay rccupei itc from the dispoiidiug situation of tlie times, that I may he able to go onward in expanding aud perfecting my mills to an extent uot to be surpassed in lite Slate, as well as in other respects to improve this fine water power, and render it subseivient to some oi the great interests of the country. For the encouragement of this enterprise which lies before nie, 1 beg leave to most cordially invite a liberal patronage. 1 am very anxious to complete my mills, to consist of two corn and two Wheat, for which 1 have got ample room. The Corn to consist of the best granite that can be had ; the Wheat to consist of t wo pair of Burrs, and the most improved preparation for bolting and cleaning, all of wbicli to be selected by myself from tlie t.est establishments to be found North, forming in the whole, a complete organization, ea pnldc of doing business with the greatest perfection, dispatch, and convenience. Also, 1 desire tn further improve the various roads connecting this place with the surrounding country, tlie working out of which and keeping in oriter mils alia >st entirely on tny shoulders. With these various improvements comple'cd, the interests of the country would be much enhanced, not only in a inaiiu fac'uring point of view, but also to the traveling community. From the central position of tilts place, having directness of access to the main leading sections of the surrounding country, the interests of travel lias been much improved by the erection of a bridge here, and opening of roads leading therefrom. This interest I propose to further improve as circumstances and means will permit. Unfortunately for myself, and I think to some ex- ' lent, the same to the country, that my bridge ' and roads wcro not lung ago on the public, as I i hereby n more rapid development of the various resources of this water power would have been the consequence, as well ns improvement to travel. From I he peculiar condition of circumstances. and the depressed state of the times. 1 do not propose thru the public should lake tny bridge and road, ns an effort would perhaps prove an unsuccess, and incur an opposition, feeling that I desire to nvoid. Theiofore, this labor which 1 think should have been public, : has fallen upon individual enterprise on one of limited means, but possessed of an untiring energy. For the want of means, the. progress of my enterprises has been greatly retarded. The direction of my past labor at this piace, with my contemplated future course, is such, that triivrl has much interest in my success, us well as the agriculture of tlie country, in being able to employ this abundant and well adapted water power, in preparing the products of the farm for home consumption and export. For lite promotion of these interests, nllow me again to invite your support, with which I am confident of success; without it, I may be forced to take, in a partner, who might incumber my views and impair nty energies by differences that are liable to arise out of partnership. 1 nut in favor of companies, only when it is indispensable -> raise large capital to do a largo busmcss. My miller is H ('. Khands, i whose teputation as a good miller, is well ; known b}' the largo patronage which lie left ! in my employment there at Griudle Shoals Mills. In tlie spring of'02, volunteered for the wnr, nnd promised to return to me at its close, if he came through safe. From every source thut I have been able to procure information, he succeeded there in pleasing his large custom. | We promise to spare no pains hero to attend to the iutcrest of customers.
