High, in the 62d Cr of her age. Tho subject of this notice hail n a member of the Baptist Church, at Mt. Zion, for nearly twenty years, and was, in all lrospoets, a lady and a true Chrutian. She combined meekness of soul with cheerfulness of disposition, and was a confiding and affect ionhis wife. Having had no children to call her mother, and to require at her hands the kindness and affection of a mother, her benevolence Was liberally distributed in the hospitalities of her home, kindness to her neighbors, and oharities to the poor and afflicted. Iler servants bewail their loss, in their bereavement of a Mistress who was truly their best earthly friend. Au affliction of several years duration, chastened and mellowed the spirit of Mrs. High, so that death to her was a kind and welcome messenger. 8he pstiently eudured to the end that affliction and suffering which doubtless worked for her n far more exceediug and eternal weight \>f glory. A FRIEND. Departed this life, at the residence of her father, in this District, on the 6th instant, &ARAH FLEMING, who was born 21th February, 1828. The deeensed had been, for a long time, afflicted severely, yet all her pliysteol sufferings she endured as teats of her religious faith, and resignedly submitted to the whastwntng hand of her Heavenly Father. She woe eminently pious -for many years professed tha'Cbristian's hope?and Tor throe weeks preViout to her departure, her heart was filled Villi the bliss of Heaven, and the eyes of her aanetified spirit feasted upon the glories of the brighter and upper world. On one occasion, she observed, "that she was not going to die, the was simply going through the gale of dra'h to Heaven, where there would ho no more pain, bo more sorrow, and her weary soul would be at reet." Her Savior and God were ever before her, and filled her purified thoughts. To each of the family, she gave the most cheering evidences of her acceptance by her Savior?urged Chem earnestly to meet bcr in Heaven?that she had tasted its bliss, and could speak experimentally of its rnpturous beauties. Upon the promises of God she trusted, and found thcin as au apchor to her soul?firm, supporting, -sustaining. The beatiful lines of the sacred songster. Watts, " Jesus can make a dying bed" &c., were again and again repeated by her, and a few moments before she died she spoke rapturously of Heaven, its glorious realities, tlie presence of her Savior, and the certainty of nor admittance into His Kingdom.
