Keck of (Jage Avenue, 0 is quite an electrical nonius, has ented an electrical device for rting a fire in a grate. This ctrical device consists of two flashht dry cell batteries connected to I ordinary alarm clock. The alarm R ck electrically connected to two I ctric wire coils. A match with the B Ml cut short is placed in a cuff on H short nurved steel arm . The 1 ck is set to alarm at the desired I ie, and when the alarm is made I 1 current from the batteries rushes the two wire coils, forming an r~" 'ctric magnet. This magnet draws X a trigger on the curved arm, and 2 leases it by means of a strong steel A ring drawing the match in the cuff 2 ross a rainbow shaped file ignit- J lt it, and throwing the match in A e grate. The match soon catches 2 the paper and kindling (which has 5 en prepared beforehand) and in a j w minutes you have a fire. Of f urse the paper and kindling are in ^ e grate preparatory to setting the J vice. 5 Mr. Keck says he has known this S vice to fail only one time, and that J is the fault of his, by not having 5 e device placed near enough to the Z ate. '* This device is both practical and 'f seful, and was invented by Mr. t eck and made by Mr. W. M. Whiten- \ an expert mechanic of this city. ? ^hy Approve the Y. M. C. A. War Fund \ i 1.
