FRIDAY MORNING, OCT. 24. We entirely neglected to write a Sal lutatory for our little BULLETIN with the first number, but do not overlook the importance of a Valedictory an nonneing that this issue is its last ap pearance fur the season. We hope that it has served the purpose designed and has given satisfaction to the many who have received it. Perhaps we may do so again, don't know nov. With many thanks to those who lib erally gave us their cards, and to others for their kind words, we shuffle off the daily harness and fall back on the weekly HErUALD, to which we kindly invite attention. The Thespians Gave a very pleasant entertainment in their Hall Wednesday evening. The bad weather prevented a large attend ance. Slasher and Crasher and Fish Out of Water, two excellent comedies, were played by members of the Club. Last night the weather was good, and the actors were greeted with a full house. The performance of Wednes day evening was repeated in first class style, the frequent applause by the au dience showing their warm apprecia tion and enjoyment. The fellows who run the "high die," "chuck-a-luck," "wheel of fortune," and such games. are reaping a rich harvest. People who risk their money at such things are impervious to good advice, and we do not propose to waste any on them: it would be "casting pearls before swine." They belong to that numerous class who only learn in the school df experience. Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Holmes, L. H. Watts, Master of Laurens County, Mr. J. A. Watts, Col.*. C. Watts, Mr. Ir by and others from Laurens Court House are attending the Fair-a fine looking delegation. Mr. Geo. Marshall, of Ninety-Six, is in town, with a splendid team 'of chest nut sorrels. Col. Win. Wallace, of Columbia, is in town. Those having articles on exhibition here wishing to exhibit the same at the State Fair can make their entries with Col. Holloway, the Secretary, before the Fair closes, and send articles down Saturday before the Fair opens. This is a great convenience. We are plea'sed to learn that Mrs. Langford returned from Maryland last Friday. bringing with her Miss Henri etta, of whose serious illness mention has been made, and that she is some-f what improved. Annie, a bright, pretty little daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Y. Leavell, died Thursday mnorning, of pneumonia, ag.ed three years. She had been sick only a few days. IN TIME FOR THE FAIR!
