Mayor Godfrey asked Mr. Thoma son about put?ug down Belgian blocks on Murray avenue near the freight station, stating that the city would furnish them if the company would have them hauled and put in place. Mr. Thomauou Btaled that the company would gladly do thia. Thia avenue has been giving trouble during tho winter because of the heavy hauling from thc depot aud this will bc a great improvement. The object of the springs is once the churn ls started going up and down, tho motion ls kept up for sonic time. An occaslonul push and the churn does the work itself. A special train will leave Anderson over the Blue Ridge at 7 o'clock Tues day morning and a round trip rate of $1.00 will bc charged. A large delegation will Join thc Anderson peo ple at Belton. I. Keeler, president of tba Wesleyan Methodist conference, will preach tonight at tho Wesleyan Meth odist church on South Malo street- at 8 o'clock. Company B, Palmetto Rifles will leave on next Tuesday morning on a a special train at 5:30 for the Isle of Palms where they will go into camp. Thc company will be gone ten days. At Relton the Anderson boys will be Joined by those from Pelter and the First Regiment band of William ston. Tlie train on which they will travel is scheduled to arrive in Char leston about 3:30 In t ie afternoon. Immediately upon reaching Charles ton thc company will go into camp on the Isle of Palms, the site being near tho pavlllion. I It was stated yesterday that plans arc being made for the members of the company to sleep in the armory here on Monday night so Coat all will be able to get ready to take the train. Quartermaster llrown is mak ing preparations now for the means on thc train and everything is being put in readiness. Drill practice ls being held every night and Company H is expected to put up a good showing. Several new members have enlisted this year and tho company now numbers about 70. Traveling on the special train to the encampment also will be Lieut. Col. P. K. McCully. Lieut. Shcror, Capt. B. B. Gossett, inspector of small arms. Flrct Degiment olllcers, and Messrs. J.' T. Crawford and Robert McCully will go as color scar gentB. On July 27th the Woodmen of thc World of the Piedmont will vun au excursion to Charleston from Belton and since thc encampment will be there, during that time, it ls expected that many from this city will bike ad vantage ot thc trip.
