ing Offices in the Bradford, Springs Fe
male Institute, viz:
A Male Assistant, to he a married man,
and fully competent to teach all the bran
ches of an English and Classical Educa
tion, with a salary of $700, and board of
himself, wife, and all children under se
ven ; all children over seven to be entered
and charged as regular pupils for board
and tuition—boys over twelve years ex
cepted, as they are not to remain in the
Institution.
A Teacher of French and Music, with
salary of four hundred and fifty dollars
and board; one that can teach on both
Piano and Guitar will be preferred.
An Assistant Teacher of Music on Pia
no and Guitar, Ornamental Needle Work,
and Shell and Wax Work, with a salary
of three hundred and fifty dollars and
board.
A second Assistant Teacher of Music

as the Brick-House place, situated be
tween the plantations of Col. Bright Wil
liamson and E. VV. Charles, Esq., contain
ing about Three Thousand Acres, of
which about seven hundred acres is open
land, under good fence and cultivation.
The premises have on them a good over
seer’s house, kitchen, smoke house, gin
house and screw, fifteen negro houses,
four corn cribs, stables, 4tc. About three
hundred and fifty acres of upland attach
ed to this plantation, on which is a grist
mill, which is unsurpassed by any in the
District Also, a peach orchard and an
excellent summer house, used as a per
fectly healthy summer retreat for the
overseer and his family.

My plantation called Fairmount, and
well known as the “Round O,” contain-
ingabout fifteen hundred acres, situated
in Darlington District, on the old road
leading from Darlington Court House to
Society Hill, about seven miles from the
former place, and about five miles from
my Pee Dee plantation, on this place is
about six hundred and sixty acres of open
laud and under good fence and cultiva
tion. It has on it a two story dwelling
house 50 feet by 34, eight upright rooms,
all plastered throughout, 4 passages and
piazza, and a good cellar unaerthe house,
attached to said dwelling house, is a new
building, well finished containing two
rooms with piazza. One room in said
building was used by me for a school
room, the other as a room for private
tutor. The premises have also on them all
necessary out buildings, such as a kitchen
38 feet by 19, with Piazza and three fire
places and brick oven to one of the chim
neys, a good smoke house—a store room
and dairy, a brick bathing house, 12 by 14
feet, with large kettle worked in brick for
heating water—a good gin house and
stable about one hundred feet

over the State of South Carolina:
WHEREAS information has reached
me that an atrocious murder was commit
ted upon John McDaniel, of Barnwell, by
six young men, among whom were Sea
born E. Farmer and Wm. G. Tobin; and
whereas the aforesaid Farmer and Tobin
have made their escape: Now be it known,
in order that they may be brought to trial,

the State of .Soutit Carolina, do issue this
my proclamation, otfering a reward of
Tico Hundred Dollars for the delivery of
both, or Fite Hundred Dollars for the de
livery of either of them, to the Jailor of
Barnwell district.
Farmer is about 25 or 28 years old, 6
feet 8 inches high, well made, fair com
plexion, blue eyes, light hair, two of his
front teeth slightly broken otf. He has a
scar on his cheek about an «ch and a
half long, made by tho cut of a knife.
Tobin is 18 or 19 years old, 5 feet 11
inchets, fair complexion, very little beard,
light hair, white teeth, thick lips, well made,
and is badly scarred on the rigid arm and
bhoulder.
