My PLANTATION on the Pee Dee
River in Darlington District, well known
as the Brick-House place, situated be
tween the plantations of Col. Bright Wil
liamson and E. W. Charles, Esq., contain
ing about Three Thousand Acres, of
which about seven hundred acres is open
land, under good fence and cultivation.
The premises have on them a good over
seer’s house, kitchen, smoke house, gin
house and screw, fifteen negro houses,
four corn cribs, stables, Sic. About three
hundred and fifty acres of upland attach
ed to this plantation, on which is a grist
mill, which is unsurpassed by any in the
District. Also, a peach orchard and an
excellent summer house, used as a per
fectly healthy summer retreat for the
overseer and his family.

My plantation called Fairmount, and
well known as the ‘‘Round O,” contain
ing about fifteen hundred acres, situated
in Darlington District, on the old road
leading from Darlington Court House to
Society Hill, about seven miles from the
former place, and about five miles from
my Pee Dee plantation, on this place is
about six hundred and sixty acres of open
land and under good fence and cultiva
tion. It has on it a two story dwelling
house 50 teet by 34, eight upright rooms,
all plastered throughout, 4 passages and
piazza, and a good cellar under the house,
attached to said dwelling house, is a new
building, well finished containing two
rooms with piazza. One room in said
building was used by me for a school
room, the other as a room for private
tutor. The premises have alsoon them all
necessary out buildings, such as a kitchen
38 feet by 19, with Piazza and three fire
places and brick oven to one of the chim
neys, a good smoke house—a store room
and dairy, a brick batliiug house, 12 by 14
feet, with large kettle worked in brick for
heating water—a good gin house and
screw—a stable about one hundred teet
long, with sixteen different apartments
for horses, each apartment having a door
to it leading into the lot—four corn cribs,
a blacksmith Shop,thirteen negro houses,
a good overseer's house, with three rooms
in it and piazza. On this place is also a
peach and apple orchard, garden, dtc.

ton 75 feet by 28, with warehouse count
ing room and receiving room, built of the
best material and in workman like man
ner.

The lot whereon I now reside in the
Town of Darlington, formerly owned by
Moses Sanders, dec’d., containing twenty
five acres and having on it a two story
building 50 feet by 22, with eight rooms
three passages and piazza. Also, having
on it necessary out buildings, such as
kitchen, 4 negro houses, store houses,
corn house, stables, carriage house. Sic.

whereon T. B. Haynsworth now lives,
containing eight or more acres, having on
it a two story dwelling house with eight

surpassed by none in the village, either
in material or workmanship—said lot

house, smoke house, store rooms, stables,
carriage houee, barn, &.c.

A tract of land situated In Darlington
District, known as “The Cypress,” con
taining about fifteen hundred acres, on
the road from Darlington village to
DuBose’s Bridge, about twenty miles dis
tant from the former place. On this
tract are 450 acres of land open and un
der cultivation. It lias on it a good over-
seer’s house, kitchen dairy, two smoke
houses, two gin houses and screws-—four
corn crilss, two stables, one shelter 80 feet
long by 30, with feed troughs and racks,
seventeen negro houses, blacksmith shop,

and the Railroads are in fine order, (the
Wilmington and Weldon Road having
recently been relaid with heavy T rail)
thereby securing both safety and des
patch. A THROUGH TICKET having
already been in operation w ill be continu
ed as a permanent arrangement from
Charleston to New York. By this route
travellers may reach New-York on the
third day during buisiness hours. On
and after the first day of July next. Bag
gage will be ticketed from the point of
departure to Washington City, under the
charge of a special Agent or Baggage
Master. At Washington the same w ill be
transferred to the care of similar agents,
w ho will accompany it to New York, and
the like arrangements will be pursued in
returning South.

ted upon John McDaniel, of Barnwell, by
six young men, among whom were Sea-
born E. Farmer and Wm. G. Tobin; and |
whereas the aforesaid Farmer and Tobin
have made their escape: Now be it known,
in order that they may be brought to trial,

him in his work, as well as the pupils un
der his charge, the beneficial itillucuce of
his piety and learning. Strict ana paren
tal attention paid to the maimers and mo
rals of the young ladies. Religious ser
vice in connection with Sabbath School
exercises, held every Sunday in the Chapel
for the lienefit of tno pupils. We have
an excellent and well selected Philosophi
cal and Chemical apparatus and give a
