There is in my neighbourhood, (and
has been for several years,) a large hom
ed Rod STEER, with some littie white
about him, five or six years old, apparent
ly, which I claim as being the property ot
Janies Holloway. The said steer has a
swallow-fork in his right ear, and an un
derhit in the lift, which is plain to be seen,
the over slope in the right ear, in addition
to the other marks, constitute the whole
of the mark, under which I claim but,
; have been unable to discover the over
slope, at a distance. I therefore give no
tice, that unless another make better
claim very soon, I will take his hide off
and make a closer search.

Mr. Jethro J. Baines last winter, and gave
in exchange for him a negro girl. The

ON Monday 19th inst., the Rev. N.
Graham, resigned the office of Bursar, in
the Institution. The Trustees accepted
the resignation, and made such arrange
ments in the Boarding Department, as
they confidently believe will give ample
satisfaction, to all the patrons of the Insti
tute. The Principal and his Lady aided
by competent assistants, will assume the
management of the Boarding on the first
of June. By the reouest of the Secretary

2d. A lot with a one-story Dwelling and
out buildings, fronting on the public
I square, of Darlington Village, generally
known ns the Stanley lot, and now’ occu
pied by Mrs. Sexton.
3d. A plantation containing (1050) one
thousand and fifty acres of land, on which
is a comfortable dwelling, overseer and
negro houses, gin house Ac., lying about
six miles north of Darlington Village, in
upper Springville: bounded by lands of
Dr. Thos. Smith, Jas. S. McCall, Robert
Ozley, and John J. Cannon.
4th. A tract containing about two hun
dred acres, lying in the lower part of the
District, known as the Radford and Cox
land, of w hich a more minute description
together with a plat will be given outlie
day of sale.
5th.—A tract containing one hundred
and thirty-two acres, at the junction of
the Field s Bridge and DuBose’s Bridge
roads, one mile from Darlington village.
Terms—Possession of the property to
be given on the 1st of January next, one
third of the purchase money to Iw paid
at that time, one third on 1st January
1853, and one-third on 1st January 185-i;
the two deferred instalments to bear in
terest from 1st January 1852, when pos
session is given. Purchasers to give bond
with approved personal socurity and a
mortgage on the premises, and to pay for
all necessary papers.
