ARRIVAL OF TIIE ATLANTIC.
New York, Feb. 20.?The steamship Atlan
tic has arrived from Liverpool, with four Jays
later intelligence. There has been a decline o
an,eigtn m cotton since tlie departure ot tin
Cambria, in ordinary and lower qualities of cot-v
ton; other descriptions are unchanged. The
H. sales on Monday and Tuesday were 15,000 bales,
of which Exporters took 5000 bales. On \\ ednesday,
the sales of cotton were 10,000 bales, the
market buoyant and exports active. Ihisinessat
Manchester was not active. The attempt to assassinate
the Queen of Spain was made while site
was leaving church, with her infant in her amis,
by a Jesuit Priest named Mkkino. The Queen
received two poignard wounds, both, however,
slight. The vidian was arrested and executed at
Madrid.

eminent hud published an article in La Pa trie,
telling the electors they must elect Bonapartists
to the Assembly, and that if they elected others
tliev would not be allowed to take their seats.?
Madame Pauline Talland, and sixty printers,
have been arrested.

be an agent of Kossuth, has been executed
on a charge of attempting to seduce Hungarian
soldiers.
Henry's Circular says that Breadstufts are unchanged,
but to effect sales a reduction of one
shilling on Flour, and 3d on Wheat, must bo submitted
to.

The steamship Africa has arrived from Liverpool,
with dates to the 14th.
I The Liverpool Cotton Market was buoyant on
' the lltli, and prices were well sustained on the
12th and 13th, the pressure of stock on the market
being much less than for some time past.?
The sales on the last two days amounted to 20,000
bales, of which exporters took 3300, and
speculators 1500. The market closed firmly at
1-10 advance. Liverpool,

of the week 57.000 bales.
In England a dissolution of the Ministry is anrticipated.
There is-nothing of interest from
France. There was a slight disturbance in one
of the districts, and the populace were with difticulty
dispersed.
Advices from Home state that the French
troops are regarded with abhorenccby the J'ope
and the people, and attempts have been made to
assassinate the French soldiers; while a French
Inspector of Police has been stubbed.
The French Government has determined to
request the Belgium Government to have removed
from the field of Waterloo, the PritMi
JJon and other monuments of the victory, England
will resist this demand.

has arrived from San Francisco, with dates
to the 2d. She brings 234 passengers and. $400,
000 in gold.
