k A Good One.?The Washington corrcsponi
Uout of the Baltimore Suu relates the following
story :?
" The freshest story of the season runs tints :
Last night, tis the passengers from the ears were
rushing into one of the principal hotels, a man.
attired as a traveller, aniiouneed himself as a newly
elected Member ot Congress from one of the
far-off States. Ho was soon surrounded bv the
friends of a certain candidate. f.?r the clerkship.
and his vote solicited. The stranger intimated
that 'lie thought pretty well of that gentleman
rfroin what lie had h< aid of hnti, but as he* had
just arrived, could not say anything: positive til!
he had changed his dress and refreshed himself/
Besides, 'his funds were out, and'as he could not
draw his mileage until to-morrow, he must se<-k
some friend to help him, and that $50 would
answer for the present.' The arrangement was
quickly made to put the niemher into funds, and
$50 was handed to hint?but on the following
day, behold ! the assumed liicmljcr was amongst
the missing, and has not bo*'n heard of since."

it inv duty t<> my patrons, hut to tin.- community,
and all* afflicted with diseased lungs, to state
that I have used Dr. linker's Liverwort and Tar
in several cases with the happiest cftect; and in
one case particularly, that of Miss Belt, who appeared
to be laboring under the last stage of
scrofulous consumption, as pronounced by several
physicians, who were in attendance previous
to my taking charge of her case. By its use she
has been entirely restored, and is now enjoying
the best health. JIikam Cox, M. i>.
