for about twenty years I had 1 een suffering from Dyspepsia.
Erery year the symptoms became worse, nor could 1
obtain permanent relief from any course of medical treatment
whatever. About fourteen yeai since, in consequence of
(requent exposure to the weather in the discharge of my pastoral
Solids, I became subject ti a severe Chrome Rheumatism,
which fur year after yes , caused me indescribable
anguish. Farther: in the winter jf '45 and '4?, in consequence
Of preaching a great deal in my own and various other
churches in this region, I was attacked by the bronchitis,
which aooo became so severe as to require an immediate suspension

that these disorders were connected with each other through

One instance in particular, in which the superior
xirtnes of this medicine have, been tested, has fallen
under our observation. During the last summer, a son of
Mr. Abraham Bmbill, of this country, was very seriously
afflicted with I.iver Complaint, and after trying in vain
various remedies, he purchased a bottle of the Bitters and
after using it, was so much relieved of his distressing malady
that he procured another bottle, and is restored entirely
to health.

"We again call attention to the removal of the German
Medicine store, the principal depot for the sale of Dr Hoofland's

one door below Sixth. Owing to the increased demand
tor this medicine, and for the accommodation of his numerous
patients, Dr. Jackson ha* been compelled to occupy a
larger store. We wish him success in hi* new quarters;
he is deserving of it. The Bitters Mixture is withoutdouhl
the greatest medicine extant for diseases of the Liver ami
Bowels. A stubborn case of Chronic Diurrlura has come
under our notice, wherein the patient had exhausted the
Materia Medicos of the different schools of medicine with
no apparent benefit. He was induced to use these bitters,

literary attainments,said in his "New Vork Weekly Messenger,

It is made after a presc ription furnished by otie of the most
relebrnted physicians of modern titn s. the late Dr. Christopher
Wilhefm Hoofland, Professor to the University of
Jena, Private Physician to the King of Prussia, and one of
the greatest medical writers Germany lias ever produced.
He was emphatically the enemy of humbug, and therefore
a medicine of which he was the inventor and endorser may
be confidently relied on. H? specially recommended it in
liver complaint, dyspepsia, debility, vertigo, nridtty of the
stomach, constipation, and nil complaints arising from a
disordered condition of the stomach, the liver and the intestines.
Nine Philadelphia papers express their conviction
of its excellence, and several of the editors spenk of
its effects from their own individual experience. Under
these circumstances we feel warranted not only in calling
tho attention of our readers to the present proprietor's (Dr.
C. M, Jackson's) preparation, but in recommending the article
to all afflicted."

The " Philadelphia Saturday Gazette/' the best family
newspaper published in the United Slates, the editor says of

Evidence upon evidence has been received (like the
foregoing) from all sect ions of the Union, the last three

when presented even in this form.
