"We have uniformly refrained from recommending to
the public any of the various Patent Medicine- of the day,
unless thoroughly convinced of their value. A mono those
we consider worthy of notice is the Norman Hitiers. invented
by Dr. Hoofland.nnd prejiared by Dr. Jackson, in Philadelphia.
One instance in particular, in which the superior
virtues of this medicine luive been tested, has fallen
under onr observation. During the last summer, a son of
Mr. Abraham Hrnhill, of this country, was very seriously
afflicted with Liver Complaint, and after trying in vain
various remedies, he purchased a bottle of the Hitlers and
after nsing it, was so much relieved of his distressing malady
that he pv^ured another bottle, and is rertored entirely
to heal lit.

Dr. Jackson has been compelled to occupy a
larger store. We wish him wk^ww in his new quarters;
he is deserving of it. The Hitters Mixture is without donht
the greatest medicine extant for diseases of the Lher and
llowcls. - A stubborn ca?c of Chronic Diarrhoea has come
under onr notice, wherein the patient had exhausted the
Materia Medicaa of the different school* of medicine with
no apparent benefit, lie was induced to use these bitters,
and a few bottles of them have entirely cured him: Many

recollect tliis great restorative, should they be so unfortunate

Dr. Keelcr'a Cordial and Carminative.?This article is
advertised in another part or ottrpaper.it is warmly recommended
hy families who have tied it. It is especially
useful among children, and lias effected hundreds of cures.
The doctor is abundantly supplied with testimony upon the
subject, some of which is very at rot nr. The Cordial is not
a quark nostrum, hut a earefullv prepared medicine, and
perfectly free from any tiling injurious.
