Miss Lindsay taught fro three years in the Chesterfield' High School and has a host of friends here, who were delighted to meet her again. She taught at McColl the pest term and will return in the fall. The Junior Order wilj give an ice cream supper Saturday night. All members cojne and bring cake to the hall. Regular meeting June 4. Several of our prominent citizens, representing the local Board of Trade, went to Lancaster today to attend a meeting in the interest of of the Athens-Wilmington Highway. Sheriff Hunter of Lancaster is taking an active nterest in puling this highway via Lancaster, Pageland, Chesterfield and Cheraw. P. G. Brewer was fined $50.00 and Albert Brewer was fined $26.00 in * Magistrate Teal's court Wednesday 1 for disorderly conduct. They wero J convicted for raising a row at the home of the former's father. P. G. Brewer is also under bond for appearance at court for assault and battery with intent to kill his father. Mrs. L. H. Trotti, Mrs. C. K. Curtis, Miss Cora Craig and Messrs T. P. Craig and C. L. Hunley attended the funeral in Charlotte last Monday of Master Charles Craig Tull, the se van-year-old son of Mrs Reid Tull. The boy was accidentally killed by an automobile last Sunday. Mrs. Tull, formerly Miss Craig, the daughter of Mr. Charley Craig, a brother of T. P. and W. D. Craig. The membership committee for the Chesterfield Board of Trude is Messrs G. M. Smith, D. L. Sellers captured a still in th? Wex- j ford section on Tuesday, May 24. This was the property of Charley,better known as "Snow" Tillman. Charley had a pretty fair outfit. His fermenting vat was sunk in the floor of he stable .and would hold 300 gallons of mash. It had a nicely i fitted top, which was covered with straw and a mule.
