A PISTOL AND BOOZE
CASE KILLING
Will Hinson is dead and J. W. Patrick
is in jail charged with tho killing.
From all that can be learned there
was no greater reason for the death
of Hinson than mean liquor and a
handy pistol.
Both men live near Mt. Croghan
and are said to have been in a party

P. G. Brewer. This statement as to
jshere they had been is also denied.
Both men were drinking and had
quarreled a- little earlier in the day.
They were on their way home and in
the neighborhood of Hornsboro when
the quarrel was resumed. Hinsotn,
Patrick and Tylor Watson, of North
Carolina, were on the rear seat
of a car and Jim Hendricks was on
the front seat..
It is said when the dispute became
violent and Patrick drew his pistol
Hendricks reached back and grabbed
the pistol and had a finger badly injured
by a bullet. Watson also made
an effort to prevent the shooting. A
bullet struck llinson in the neck and
ranged downward. He died Sunday
afternoon.
An inquest was held by Coroner
Pate and the verdict declared that
Hinson came to his death at the
hands of Patrick.
The highest dam in the world, to
join the States of Nevada and Arizona,
and harness turbulent waters of
the Colorado river for extended irrigation
in the Southwest, is to be constructed
in the near lulure by the
United States Reclamation Service.

HESTERFIELD BOARD OF
TRADE ORGANIZED
The Chesterfield Board of Trade
ras organized last Friday afternoon.
A number of representative citiens
met at the court house last Friay
for the purpose of organizing a
loard of Trade. Fourteen members
igned up and the following officers

The most important matter before

Trade voted unanimously to become
1 member of the Athens Chesterfield
Highway Association.
Another very important thing this
roung organization did was to decide

At this meeting the Athens-Cheserfield
Highway project will be disussed.
