WHEN BILL NYE SOLD HIS COW
Bill Nye the humorist once had a
J cow he wanted to sell, and he unj
blushingly advertised all lier faults
while naming the few virtues she
seems to have possessed. His adver1
tisement ran:
I "Owing to my ill health, I will sell
, at my residence in township 19, range
, 18, according to the Government's
survey, one plush raspberry cow, age
j eight years. She is of undoubted
courage and gives milk frequently. To
j the man who does not fear death in
any form, she would be a great boon.
f She is very much attached to her
a present home with a stay chain, but
she will be sold to anyone who will
agree to treat her right. She is onefourth
Shorthorn and three-quarters
s hyena. I will also throw in a double
barrel shotgun, which goes with her.
r In May she usually goes away for a
s wct'K or two unu lt'iurninp wiin a tan,
j red calf with wobbly legs. Her name
s is Kose. I would rather sell her to a
^ non-resident, the farther awny the
better."
