potatoes has been arranged by the
Extension Service of Clemson College
to tour the sweet potato section dur^
ing late September and early October.
The railroads concerned are co(
operating to transport this sweet potato
car, which will stop at twentyone
points in the more important
sweet potato growing counties for
, demonstration and instruction.
1 The car will have a model storage
house, types of crates and containers,
e harvesting (machines, specimens of
standard grades, disease charts, bulletins,
posters and charts containing
1 valuable information, etc.; and will
'j be in charge of Extension Service
specialists who will explain proper
^ harvesting, handling, packing, grading
and preparation for market,

Dr. R. L. Gardner has installed a
complete water works plant and sewerage
system at his Main street residence.
The sanitary system approved
by the State Board of Health has
been selected. The same system furnishes
electricity for lighting and
and other purposes for the residence.
SCHOOL OPENS MONDAY
All preparations have been made
for the opening of the Chesterfield
High School next Monday. Considerable
difficulty is being experienced in
securing rooms and board for the
nonresident teachers, but it is expected
that these arrangements will be
completed by the time that all the
| teachers arrive.
