MEEHAN CASE UNDECIDED
The tfase of Mecklenburg: County,
N. C., against Parnell^ Meehun, charg,
ed with hiring labor in said county
without, license, was tried at Charlotte
last Friday. The district attorney
and his solilitor prosecuted the
case and the defense was conducted
by T. L. Kirkpatrick, ex-mayor of
Charlotte, Hunter Marshall, Jr., of
New York and Charles L. Hun ley,
of Chesterfield. At the conclusion of
the trial, during which Mr. Hunley
delivered an address for the defense,
the judge reserved decision until August
3. It was gncrally thought that
the verdict will be acquittal.
