One of the prettiest home weddings
of the season was solemnized Saturday
morning Mar. 27, at 9 o'clock at
the home of the bride's parents, Mr. I
and Mrs. E. M. Melton, when their
charming and attractive daughter,
Stella was married to Cephus \. Sitton,
of EaRley, S. C. The Rev. B. J.
Guess, pastor of the bride officiated.
The house was tastefully decorated
in potted ferns, golden jonquils and
violets, the bride's color scheme being
purple and gold.
Just preceding the ceremony a
short musical program was rendered
by the Misses Vera and Nell Melton,
sisters Nof the bride. Miss Vera Melton
sang "Because," and "I love you
truly," followed by "Souvenir" on the
violin by Miss Nell Melton.
To the strains of Lohengrin's wedding
march, the bride und groom entered
unattended. During the ceremony
which followed, "Melody in F"
was played very softly.
The bride, a lovely blonde, Was
never more attractive than at this
time. She wore a spring coat suit of
tan and harmonizing accessories with
corsage of sweet violets and maiden
hair fern. The bride, as Miss Melton,
j was quite popular here and hor
many friends regret that her marrl>
age ta\es hor from her homo town.
Mr; Sitton is a prosperous young
farmer of Easley, and a man of sterling
qualities.
immediately after tlie ceremony,
Mr. and Mm. Sitton slipped away in
their car for a bridal trip through the
mountains of North Carolina, after
which they will go to Eaaley where
they will make their home.
The guests present outside the immediate
family were: Mrs. W. D.
Sitton, Miss Ellen Sitton and Mr. Joe
Sitton, of Easley, S. C. Miss Eugenia
Parker of St. George and Mrs. Frank
Sanders of Chesterfield.

Married Tuesday evening by Rev.
F. M. Cannon, Mr. B. E. McNair and
Miss Mary Lampley. The ceremony
was witnessed by only a few friends
of the young couple.
