JUNIOR TOPIC.?A Gllmpae of Heaven. INTERMEDIATE AND SENIOR TOPIC ?A Vision of the Qlorloua Future. YOUNO PEOPLE AND ADULT TOPIO V" ?Permanent Meaaago of the Book of L Revelation.* I I. The Worahlpera (vv. 9-14). 1. Who they are (vv. 0, 11). (1) T. Redeemed men (v. 9). They are mainly Gentiles?"of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues." They are those to whom the "gospel of the kingdom" has been preached by converted Israelites (Matt. 24:14). In the first part of chapter seven we saw God sonllng his-chosen ones from Israel. They were, sealed with the seal of God in their foreheads, which doubtless means the supernatural endowment of the Holy' Spirit on the last days (Joel 2:28-82). While this was partially fulfilled on the day of Pentecost, Its larger realization Is still future (Acts 2:15-21). This outpouring Is for the -equipment of the Jews for their divinely ordained mission, namely, to preach the gospel of the kingdom to the whole world. When God sends forth the 144,000 Jews with the unction of the Holv J Spirit, the innumerable multitude from nil nations will receive Christ, the slain Lamb, for their redemption. (2) All the angels (v. 11). These angels Indorse this ascription of , praise offered by these redeemed men by saying "Amen." 2. Whence came these redeemed? (vv. 12, 14). They came out of the r great tribulation (v. 14). After the rapture of the Church (I Thess. 4:1318). awful days of suffering and trial shall come upon the world (II Thess. 2:7, 8). It Is the time of sorrow when the anti-Christ shall hold sway; such days as were not before I nor shall be after, In which If not short- I ened no flesh could be saved (Matt. 24:1ft, 21, 22; cf. Dan. 7:8; 0:26, 27). M 8. What they say (w. 10, 12). (1) Salvation to our Cod and the Lamb (v. 10). They ascribe their salvation to God through the sncrlflce of the "I Lamb, Jesus Christ. (2) "Rlesslng." I They acknowledge that all blessings I come from him. (8) "Glory." They J| acknowledge him as the glorious one and the one to whom all glory should be given. (4) "Wisdom." He Is Infinitely wise and all wisdom comes from him. (5) "Thanksgiving," bocause salvation was provided by him. (0) "Ilonor." Their hearts went out f to him In high esteem. (7) "Power t and might." They recognised that all a power Inhered In him. ? II. The Blessedness of the Worship, ers (vv. 18-17). 1. They are before God's throne 8 (vv. 9, 15). They are In heaven and e near the throne of God. Jesus Christ 8 Is now preparing mansions for those >? who shall go to heaven (John 14:1-8). 2. Clothed with white robes (w. 9, 14). Their white robes suggest their character. They have been made such In the blood of the Lamb. The only way for a sinner to be made ready for heaven Is through the blood of e Christ. a 3. They hear palm branches (v. 9). The significance of the palm Is found In the use that the Jews made of it at the Feast of Tabernacles. It was a time of great Joy, because It repreRented the gathered harvest. The * hearers of the palm branches will experience the blessedness of not only being In heaven, hut of enjoying re1 wards for their work on earth. 4. They serve God day and night (v. 15). Heaven Is not g place of y Idleness, or altogether of singing - God's praises, hut a place where real, 2 vital service Is rendered to God; Indeed, there are nobler fields of en- N ' deavor awaiting us beyond this life. ^ r a ins nre is nur a training senooi in y which we are made ready for service In henven. > 5. God dwells among them (v. lrt). To get to henven at all would be truly blessed, hut to he there nnd have Ood to dwell among' us will be wonderful. 0. Hunger no more nor thirst (v. 1(1). y Here life Is one continuous round of 1 hungering and thirsting. In heaven we shall neither hunger nor thirst, for Jesus Christ, the Lumh, shull foed ? us. The strultH and necessities of life will then he over. 7. Neither shall the sunlight or , heat come upon them (v. 17). 8. God shall wipe away all tears ! from their eyes (v. 17). '? t This Day Only. ? Enjoy the blessings of the day If I Ood sends them; and the evils bear patiently and sweetly; for Oils day only Is ours; we are dead to yesterday, und not born to tomorrow.? j Jeremy Taylor.
