The school at Wexford has been closed for the past two weeks. It will itart again Monday March lf>th. Several families of this community have been sick with influenza. No complications have followed, most all are able to be up. Misses Minnie, Lulu and Mr. Eugene Jones spent a short while at the home of Mr. B. 11. Buroh last Sunday. Mr. Dur.c . i Niven, who is attending the auto : chool in Kansa.t City Mo., is expected home soon. Mr. Nivven has had influenza since being in that city. MIDDENDORF School has been closed for a few weeks on account of influenza and also the illness of our principal Miss Pearl Melton, but nothing preventing, school will open again Monday, March 15th. There are several families in the community down with influenza Mr. Alfred Johnson and Mis^ May Bell Johnson were in Chernw la.d Thursday wher they purchased a now Edison. Mrs. II. T. McManus and little son, Herbert, spent last week with home folks. Mr. H. C. Wilhelm was in Hartsville Saturday. Rev. Law on, the new pastor of the Baptist Church, will preach at 11 o'clock Sunday March 14th. Re,' Morrison will fill his regular appointment at Hebron in the afternoon at :i o'clock. "F OUSLJ .YDALE SCHOOL A play, " n Awful Aunt" was given at the school huose, Friday night, March 5 by the school, which was carried out in fine style. After the play boxes were sold and the proceeds amounted to $283.00 clear of expenses. As yet we have no flu in our com munity and we are huving a full attendance at school. The trustees recently had a mt ng and huv planned to enlarge i present building, which is entirely .oo small to accomodate the commu .lity. Their plans are to attach another class room and an auditorium. Patrons of the school seam to he taking an immense amount of interest in the school as shown by their quick response to any call from the teachers.
