"I will tell you, I was in bad shapt
when I began taking Tanac, but ii
got me in good health and I only took
I three bottles," declared Mrs. May
Couch, of 206 Green St., Greenville,
S. C., in a statement endorsing "The
Master Medicine." "I was suflering,
strength had all but left and nothing
seemed, would help me get strength
back," she continued.
"I had been through a very severe
illness and it left me in a completely
broken down condition. I had kidney
trouble badly, too. I was so weak my
knees woud almost double under me
and my back hurt me terribly, so badly
that I could hardly endure the
pain. My head ached awfully, too,
just as badly as if I had neuralgia.
could not eat a thing, und I seemed
to he losing strength instead of gaining
it.
"We had heard so much about Tanlac
that I finally decided I would try
it, and soon after I began tubing Tanlac
I could tell that I was picking up
right along. It gave me a tine appetite
and it seemed that I could
not get enought to cat, and
and my food nourished me, so
I gained health and strength
better than the day before. I am in
good health now and I feel fine and
strong. The Tanlac got me in good
health and I have found it to be a
fine medicine for my troubles. All
that backache has gone now and
so has the headaches. Tanlac <1 id so
much for me and I am gUn\ to recommend
it to those who suirer as I did."

CONGRESS MAY
ADJOURN NOV. 20
Rcprcentative Mondell of Wyoming,
the House Republican Leader
Saturday discussed with Senator
Lodge of Massachusetts, the majority
leader in the Senate, the possibility
of adjournment of Congress on or
about November 10. Senator Lodge
stated that he did not believe the
Senate could finish the treaty and
complete its other urgent business by
that time. As a reult of the conference,
House leaders are now talking
of November 20 as the end of the
present session of Congress.
Mr. Lodge, however, is said to be
opposed at this time to any plan for
adjournment. lie stated that the
treaty must lirst be disposed of, and
after that it will be time enough to
talk about adjournment.
Mr. Mondell's suggestion of adjournment
November 10 would seem
to indicate that Congressional leaders
have given up hope of acting at the
present session on the many other
important pending questions. Among
the most iniportatn matters calling
for legislation are the railroads, the
marine uolicv. and the army and navy
rorganization. These and many other
urgent mutters will have to be put
otF if Congress adjourns in the near
future.
EDDIF1CATION
The schoolmaster was calling on an
indignant mother.
"For my part," babbled the good
woman, "1 can't deceive what on
earth eddilication is coming to. When
I was young, if a gal only understood
the eliments of distraction, provision,
replenishing, an' the common denominator,
an' knew all about the rivers
an' their obituaries, the currents, an'
the dormitories, the provinces, an'
unpires, they had eddilication
enough."
RUBY SCHOOL OVERFLOWING
The Ruby School is full and overflowing.
Recently the Methodist
Church has been turned into a school
room during school hours and several
classes are attending. Ruby has
eight teachers and each is teaching
full classes.

VISCOUNT ASTOR DIES
OF HEART DISEASE
William Waldorf Astor, who was
born in New York in 1848, died suddenly
in London last Saturday. He
was 'he son of one of the John Jacob
Astors and was worth many millions.
He left America in 1870 and renounced
his American citizenship to
become a British subject. He was
first made a baron and later a viscount.
Twenty per cent of his millions
will go to the British government
under a law of that country.
This will cause some complication as
much of his biggest income bearing
real estate is located in New York.
OMSK GOVERNMENT
APOLOGIZES FOR FLOGGING
AMERICAN SOLDIER
The all-Russian Government at
Omsk, Siberia, has, it is reported, expressed
to the United States its regret
and indigination over the recent
floggiing of an American soldier, Corporal
Benjamin Sperling, by Cossacks
under the command of General Kalmikuflf.
The Omsk government, it is
said, is awaiting a report from Minister
of Justice Telberg to determine
what further steps should be taken
regarding the matter.
VAST JAPANISE
MIGRATION TO AMERICAN
CONTINENTS PLANNED
An editorial in a recent edition of
The New World, a Japanese newspaper
published in San Francisco, says:
"Our Japan must adopt a policy of
wide-reaching and aggressive overseas
emigration, to places like Mexi
co, Central America and South America
where our emigrants arc heartily
welcome, we must send them without
the slightest regard for anything else.
If we do not send large numbers
of emigrants and lay out plans for
various enterprises we shall ultimately
find a second staging of what has
ccured in the United States of North
America."
