been announced by Mr. L. L. Baker,
Supervising Agent of Boys' Club
Work, who hopes to make this department
larger and better this year
than ever before.
There are two classes .of prices, A
and B. In class A, prizes are offered
for the best 10 ears of cofn, any
variety, on the merits of the fcorn. In
this class there are 6 prizes, namely,
$6, $5, $4, $3, $2, and $1. 50. In class
B there will be 6 prizes for the best
single ear of corn, any variety. These
prizes are $3.50* $2.75, $1.25, and
$1.00. Attention is called to the fact
that separate entries will be required
for each of these classes, so that a
member who exhibits 10 ears in class
A cannot select one ear from this
number und plate it in class B. He
must have 10 ears for class A and
one ear for class 11 if he wishes to exhibit
in both classes.
These prizes are offered by the
State Fair Association, and ale separate
and distinct from all other state
and county prizes, having therefore nothing
whatever to do with the regular
prizes offered and awarded in accordance
with the rules governing
Boys' Corn Club Work.

Mrs. Smith is survived by two children,
Mrs. Annie Freeman, wife of
Mr. Henry Freeman, and Mr. A. P.
Smith. Mrs. Smith was a consecrated
Christian and a member of the Friendship
church since childhood. All who
knew her learned to love her. She
was yeaTs of utfe. Mrs. Smith was
.Miss Deliley Duncan before her marriage
to Mr. lb 1.. Smith. She was
a sister of Mr. W. H. Duncan. The
burial service was conducted by the
R.ev. B. J. Guess. The pull bearers

St renter, J. Wesley Streater, W. j.
Hinson, Klisha Gullcdigc and Pauley
Parker.
Mr. Smith and children wish to
bank their many friends for the
kindness shown them during the sickness
and death of their wife and

The Ladies' Home Missionary Society
will meet next Saturday afternoon
at the home of Mrs. J. II. Gardner.

Sunday in Anson county with Mrs.
Melton's mother, Mrs. Klijah Tucker,
who is very ill.
Mrs. J. F. Caddy, after being confined
to her room for several weeks,
we are glad to say, was able to be

the Sunday school conference at Mt.
Olive church last week and report a

convenes at Friendship.
