On May 29th Messrs Abbott and
Grant raided a moonshine establishment
in woods of the Adams settlement
on the Croflford land. They arrested
one man, got some more whiskey
and a still. They now have five
others under bond for next term of
court. On the following Friday they
dfstroyed another still near Deep
Creek.
Mr. Roy L. Melton, son of Mr. I.
K. Melton, has returned from France.
Roy was a member of the now famous
Co. I, but was prevented from returning
with the rest of the boys by illness
He is now well again.
Mr. Fred G. I learn, brother to the
editor, with this issue becoihes associate
editor of The Advertiser, which
is to say that he forthwith becomes reresponsible

Chief Abbott arrested B. D. Kober
ion last night at about 8 o'clock on
the farm of Mr. Hossick Bittle, five
miles from town. Robersofi was
wanted by the U. S. Government for
having deserted from the army. Ho
had enlisted on April 24th; deserted
on May 23d and was arrested on
June 11th. Robersan is u gentleman
of color.
