No more chapters are o be formed in counties where there s a chapter. For instance, McBee las almost two hundred members and ?y giving her some of our territory is she has over fifty members. A Branch must have all it own financing uid is organized just as a Chapter jut is under the original chapter. (County Chapter) which goes to At- ' anta for allotments and instructions 1 ;tc. in like manner the Branch comes :o the chapter for same. ' December is the month for every ( >ne who is a member to renew membership and for those who are lot members to become members. In his way all dues are paid in December. This a splendid plan and simplifies matters very much. Hereafter one ivill not be wondering if it is time i o renew membership to A. II. C. but .v i 11 know that the renewal is due in December. Kaeh December there will ie a drive for new members and renewals. It is hoped that this drive vill be so advertised and organized n the county that every community v 111 enlist its people in this great huminitation organization. Hereafter the work of all the chapers will be alloted them from Atanta. The allotments as sent to the diaper in town divides the allotment beween the various Branches and auxliaries. These allotments are sent to he Chapter and the Chapter in tuna livides the allotment betwben the vaious branchs and auxiliaries. These illotnients are never sent unless Atanta has the material on hand, and ve are required to get this material rom head?|urters. This plan sim>1 lies the work of the purchasing .gent and systematizes the output of he Chapters. For instance, hereto- ( ore each Chapter has decided what garments it prefers to make. The uirchasing agent would then write all ver lhe country to try to get the best ' irice obtainable for the material reitiired. After the material came vn ious mics would cut out the garnents. ; Often in this way material was .visaed and scraps were unnecessarily urge hence the change. Decently Cheraw Chapter received his allotment: 1150 undershirts;refuree garments. Mrs. Winsey is chairman ( if this Committee and Mr. Hubert I lanna is Secretary and they have V icen doing a wonderful work. This ommittee wishes to tret in touch with very enlisted man's family so as to e its counsellor always, and to help i case trouble should arise. It is distinctly not a charitable /ork but a work of brotherly lovehat this committee does. Charleston?Nearly $0,000,000 worth of War Savings Stamps have been sold in South Carolina, according to reports received at the office of the State War Savings Committee. This amount is only about one-fifth of the State's quota for the year. The unsatisfactory showing is believed to he due to the fact that many person^ % have neglected the pledges they made in the June W S. S. pledge campaign although in most counties these pledges are being redeemed faithfully. Beaufort county led the state in sales during the week ending September 7, and also leads in total sales. Beaufort is the only county in the State which has purchased more than $7.00 per capita.
