The general merchandise store of
Mr. J. E. Oliver, just west of ChesterfieljJ,
was burned to the ground
early Tuesday morning. The origin
of the fire is unknown. Building and
i stock were only slightly covered by
insurance. Mr. Oliver, who lives
about one mile from his store hud

kept open till near 10 o'clock Monday
night. Several neighbors were
vith him until the store was closed, j
( There had been no fire in the store
that duy and only a lamp used for
lighting, which was not left burn
ing. The building was new, having
- been completed less than three
' months ago. The stock of good coni
