I Ol)e Chesterfield T^Vdvertlser ' volume 36?no. 23" ? ? | - chesterfield, k. c., thursday, august 23. 1017 ~ ? ? $1.00 a year in advance Work of Selection 1 Many Seek and The local board of selection begun on Tuesday sifting the second group of men called to fill Chcsterfieh County's first quota of select-men foi the National Army. The first cull of 328 men had re suited in securing and certifying t< . the district board about 80 men, leavir-j about 100 to be supplied. To get this number 300 men were called to report for physical examination oi Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Tuesday's Results. One hundred and nine men were examined on Tuesday. Of this number 17 accepted service with out making claims for exemption. Forty-nine making claims, were ae cepted, and 4.'1 were dismissed foi physical reasons. Temporarily Accepted.
