BUY A BOND FOR BABY
Buy a bond for the baby and when
baby has grown into a man or woman
the bond will also have attaino 1 manly
proportions. And then this war
will have been over and its blessings
be evident. It will be worth something
to have this tangible evidence of
the fai t that you helped save to posterity
the blessings of liberty.
A NEGRO CONSPIRACY
We have heard much talk about a
negro conspiracy in case any considerable
number of white men
were called away from their homes
We confess we never had much faith
in these fears. But we believe we
have at last seen evidence of a conspiracy
of another sort.
When the Court House doors opened
Tuesday morning for registration
for military service it was quickly
filled with colored folks. For quite
a while it was hard for a white man
to get to the registrars. One negro
barely 21 was heard to complain that
a white fellow got the first ticket.
Now if this is conspiracy?this rivalry
for the first ticket, this concerted
effort to be first to rogi -t< r for service,
we can only pray, 1 ord give us
more eon -piracy.

A car load of coins have been
bought through Mr. W. .1 Tiller and
Miss Stella Minis, for use in this
county. Large (|iiantities have h. en j
spoken for by dealers in various parts
of the county, all of whom have
agreed to sell them at cost to the consumer.
It would be well to arrange for !
supply at once. If your dealer cannot
furnish them, get your order to Mr. i
Tiller or Miss Minis as soon as pos- |
sible. This car is all that can come |
into thin county this summer, very j
likely, so be sure you get yours while
they last. i
