handicapped children.
"I thank God for sparing me to
live to see this event and enjoy
this occasion," Aunt Rachel said
Thursday as she resigned her long
held position of president of the
Sist ; of Love.

A widow who has no children of
Rer own, Aunt Rachel ,rhas prolrtthly
been called "Mania" by more
children than any other woman her
age.
She transformed her two-story
home in l!?.'?2 into a nursing home
for clitldren who had undergone
rythonedic onerations at General
Hospital. At that time, Aunt
Rachel kept the children for-two or
.hree years.
In addition to feeding and clothing
the children', she game them the
love and care of a mother. Aunt
Rachel saw that each child, sometimes
at one time, was taken to i
he hospital for his check-up. She

At one time two little girls,
ihout three or four years old, were
brought to -Vint Rachel's home to

little girl was Lucile Worthy

two girls to return to their homes,
